Escaping Home, the third and final installment in the Christine Stewart series, finds the protagonist and her family and friends in an escalating period of chemical warfare in the year 2072. Unsure what life holds for them in the present time, they devise a scheme to seek safety in Alexandria, Virginia in 1790. Christine had visited this time period before and thought she knew what to expect, but the dangers were more numerous and treacherous than anticipated, one of them coming from her own timeline.
You know you love a series when a manuscript arrives in your inbox, and you feel a burst of happiness. Having read and reviewed the first two novels in the series, I looked forward to the next phase of Christine’s adventures. The author didn’t disappoint me. Again, she delved into not one, but two historical eras, giving the reader an inside look into life and events from the past. The author strived for perfection with her research of historical events and everything surrounding the time periods. The action scenes were intense and suspenseful, and at times, heart-wrenching. This was a well-written, satisfying, and bittersweet conclusion to the series. Will this be our last sighting of Christine Stewart? I hope not, but if so, I’m sure this author will come up with another worthy protagonist in her next work.
Sublime Line: “Escaping Home is a brilliant, well-written conclusion to an exciting and addictive time travel series – well worth grabbing all three books.”
