The nightmare begins when Oliver Powers, a psychiatrist, is kidnapped by a group of former patients. Still dealing with the death of his daughter, Oliver is subjected to a treatment plan designed to alter his emotions and his spirit using imaginative techniques from the past. The limits of Oliver’s endurance are endlessly tested as he is forced to face the demons of his past and to fight to distinguish reality from illusion.
The Treatment Plan is a mesmerizing psychological thriller that takes the reader through the protagonist’s mind, heart, and soul as he battles for his life during a treatment that was created using bizarre and outdated methods. There is plenty of action, but it is perfectly paced with Oliver’s discoveries about himself and his vulnerabilities, drawing a dramatic line between reality and lunacy. And all of this is delivered with a sprinkling of wit. With amazing detail to character development and setting, along with an intricate, mind-bending plot, this novel is one of the most thought-provoking I have read. A highly recommended read.
Sublime Line: “Prepare to be blown away by this skillfully written, riveting, and unpredictable psychological thriller.”
