Why choose Sublime Book Review?

Finding the right reviews for the right budget can be hard for an Indie or self-published author. And in many cases, you unknowingly pay for a review that is 100% guaranteed positive. While it’s nice for a reviewer to tell you your book is “the greatest book ever written,” this doesn’t necessarily help you, the author, and it certainly doesn’t help the industry leaders (librarians, booksellers, media professionals) make calculated decisions about purchasing your book or requesting your title for their library.

Mick, a Colorado resident and an alcoholic war veteran, receives a mysterious call to attend the funeral of his best friend, another former Marine. His trip to Indiana becomes a battle not only with his own demons but with those bred by the hazardous water of Kate’s Lake.

Kate’s Lake is another outstanding novel by David Odle, this time in the horror genre, and there is so much to love about this book. The characters are compelling, the settings are wonderfully described, and the action is heart-thumping. Entwined throughout the plot are several moral dilemmas that force the protagonist down a treacherous path, often literally. To say this novel was hard to put down is an understatement.

Sublime Line: “An outstanding horror novel with heart-thumping action and a protagonist who walks a dangerous tightrope between his conscience and his vulnerabilities.”
